The maximum file size for uploads is restricted to 1 MB due to the finite and costly nature of storage space on our servers.
Optimizing web images below 1 MB is feasible without sacrificing quality or content value. It’s important to note that our system is designed to host websites, not serve as a file repository. While you cannot host files directly on our server, you can still share files with your audience through alternative means.
Host Your Files on Google Drive
Consider utilizing Google Drive as an alternative for file hosting. Our contract with Drive permits you to store an unlimited number of files without any file size restrictions. This option provides an excellent solution for hosting your files while ensuring ample storage capacity and flexibility.
To upload your files onto Google Drive and share them for download on your site, follow these steps:
- Log in to your Google Drive account.
- Click the “New” button and select “File upload” to upload the file(s) you want to share.
- Once the file is uploaded, right-click on it and select “Share.”
- In the sharing options, select “Anyone with the link” under “Link sharing.”
- Choose the desired access level. When sharing files via Google Drive, it’s recommended to choose the “Viewer” access level for most scenarios. This ensures that users can view and download the file but cannot make any changes to it.
- Copy the shared link provided.
- Paste the link on your website wherever you want users to download the file.
By following these steps, you can securely host your files on Google Drive and share them with your audience via your website.
